What are the Benefits of Being an NWRA Member?

Being a member of the National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) is one of the best things you can do for both your company and the industry. The NWRA constantly works hard to promote best practices for those engaged in windshield repair and to serve as an advocate for the industry. Perhaps you know another windshield repair company thinking about joining the NWRA, but is not aware of the benefits and the important work that the NWRA does. Here are some things you can share with them.

Here are just a few of our accomplishments:

  • NWRA initiated and maintains the Repair of Laminated Automotive Glass Standard (ROLAGS™), which is approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI);
  • NWRA helps produce an annual conference—Auto Glass Week™—to promote education and networking in our industry, as well as bring together various vendors;
  • NWRA represents your needs before other associations, networks, insurance companies and state licensing boards to educate them about windshield repair.
  • NWRA offers a certification program that promotes and educates compliance to the Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standard (ROLAGS™), the only standard developed by the industry; and
  • NWRA is developing a Break Identification Standard (BIS). The Standard offers a key for identifying the position of a vehicle’s glass breakage (including windshield, sidelites, backlite and sunroof); the position on the particular piece of glass; and the type of break.

Members of the association contribute to the following efforts:

  • Help to promote and develop the legitimacy of windshield repair as the first option for glass;
  • Provide and promote best practices for those engaged in windshield repair;
  • Provide education, resources and information about repair;
  • Develop and promote qualified, ethical repair practices; and
  • Serve as an advocate for the windshield repair industry before the government and other regulatory groups.

To learn how you can become even more involved in the association, look for our booth at Auto Glass Week™, which will be held in San Antonio, Texas, October 5-7 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. We will hold a members-only luncheon and launch our Trusted Tech Program during the event. More information on Auto Glass Week™ can be found at www.autoglassweek.com.
