NWRA Welcomes New Board Members and Programs at Auto Glass Week™

NWRA’s newest board members (left to right), Aric Haarala of Glass Mechanix and Korey Gobin of Delta Kits, work together at the October meeting.

The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) board met recently during Auto Glass Week™ in West Palm Beach, Fla. The board welcomed two new members: Korey Gobin of Delta Kits and Aric Haarala of Glass Mechanix.

“People who do windshield repair need an opportunity to do it well,” Haarala said. “The methodology of how someone markets their business shouldn’t affect their standing. People need to prove that they can do what they say they can do. There needs to be this kind of certification. If we don’t do that it will harm us all in the end.”

Gobin suggested spotlighting an NWRA certified technician each week to add extra value to the NWRA certification.

“These smaller businesses want to know what’s in it for them,” he said.

The board discussed certification fee discounts for new members to help increase the number of members certified by the NWRA. The board voted unanimously to give new members three free certification testing spots within their membership.

Legislative updates are a new addition to NWRA’s offerings.

“We’re going to work for the people in individual states. That will be huge,” said NWRA president Troy Mason.

The board also discussed changes to the NWRA Training Manual and Certification Guide.

The NWRA also held a luncheon for its members at Auto Glass Week.
