The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) will hold a technician training course in just a few weeks in Reno, Nev., during Auto Glass Week™. The training course will be held on Friday, October 2, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the certification exam will be given from 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Rich Campfield, immediate past president of the NWRA and a member of the association’s board of directors, will lead the training.
Technicians from NWRA member companies will be able to take the course and exam for free. Non-members may attend the training and take the exam for a one-day special fee of only $39. Additionally, all non-member companies that join the NWRA by October 30 may apply the $39 fee per technician toward the total first year’s membership dues.
“The NWRA’s certification program is a great way for technicians to show their knowledge of what is necessary for ROLAGS™ compliance and ROLAGS proficiency, and sets certified technicians apart from their peers,” says Campfield. “We’re excited to give technicians this opportunity to become certified in Reno while they’re already there for the Auto Glass Week events.”
Certification shows that those certified understand the steps necessary for a company and its individuals to be in compliance with ANSI/NWRA/ROLAGS 001-2014, the Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standard (ROLAGS™). In order to be certified, technicians must have a minimum of six months’ experience performing repairs and successfully pass the certification exam. Certification is valid for two years.
Auto Glass Week will be held September 30-October 2 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and Atlantis Casino Resort Spa.
