NWRA to Launch Trusted Repair Technician Program

newsTrusted20140728The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) is working on the development of a new initiative, the Trusted Repair Technician Program, a company-wide accreditation program.

Once the program is launched, a company will need to meet the following requirements in order to become accredited through the program. The company’s management will be required to:

  • Agree in writing to follow the NWRA’s Code of Conduct and the ROLAGS Standard™;
  • Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the ROLAGS Standard;
  • Agree in writing that all of the company’s technicians will become certified repair technicians and they must all do so;
  • Participate in a random audit program; and
  • Permit open communication about the company’s practices by independent entities that conduct fraud and audit investigations.

According to the NWRA’s board of directors, the goal of the program is to increase the professionalism of the windshield repair industry, dis-incentivize poor or unethical repair companies and bring more work and recognition to companies in the program. Additionally, the board hopes that companies that become accredited through the program will be able to utilize the accreditation in marketing to both customers (including fleets, car dealerships and consumers) and insurance companies.

“Our hope is that this program will allow quality windshield repair companies to set themselves apart from others,” says NWRA vice president David Casey. “We are excited about the new value this can bring to our members.”

The NWRA board also plans to provide several marketing tools to the companies that participate in the program, including press releases issued by NWRA, use of logos and patches, brochures, and more.

The program is expected to launch in early 2015.
