The NWRA’s Trusted Technician program will provide accreditation for companies that agree to certain guidelines.The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) will launch its Trusted Repair Technician program, a company-wide accreditation, this October during Auto Glass Week™. The program is designed to advance the professionalism of the windshield repair industry, dis-incentivize poor or unethical repair companies, and bring more work and recognition to companies in the program.
Through the program, companies can become accredited by:
- Agreeing, in writing, to follow the NWRA Code of Conduct;
- Demonstrating a knowledge and understanding of the ROLAGS Standard™;
- Agreeing, in writing, that all its technicians shall be certified repair technicians and does so;
- Agreeing to participate in the Trusted Tech random audit program; and
- Permitting open communication about company practices to independent entities that conduct fraud and audit investigations.
The NWRA Trusted Repair Tech program was created to provide its participants with enhanced perception by insurers, consumers and other purchasers; a way to separate quality repair companies from those that are not: a distinct marketing message that can be used to attract more work; joint marketing efforts that provides benefits at low cost; additional marketing materials and aids to use; an audit program as a “double-check” of company practices; the eventual reduction or removal from scrutiny of independent audit programs; possible exclusive designation by insurance companies in their program Offer and Acceptances; an added-value proposition that could warrant increased fees (on an individual basis) of course; ability to market as having the highest quality designation available; and possible discounts on insurance and/or worker’s compensation costs.
NWRA plans to provide a variety of marketing tools to Trusted Tech participants, including press releases issued by NWRA; customized press releases for use by the company; distinct logo and patches; a website with a locator service by zip code; brochures and leave-behinds; and updated windshield band-aids.
An audit program will be developed for Trusted Tech companies to undergo on a regular basis.
“We are excited to launch this exciting new program and expect it to provide a great value to the industry,” says NWRA president Jeff Reddell. “We look forward to unveiling all of the details at Auto Glass Week this October.”
