The NWRA is embarking on the development of a standard to classify breakage.
The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) has launched an effort to create a new standard, a Windshield Repair Break Identification Standard. The standard will also be known as “BSR/NWRA BIS 001-201x.” The goal of the new standard will be to classify breakage in windshields and automotive glass.
This will be NWRA’s second standard developed under the guidance of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The first, the Repair of Laminated Auto Glass Standard (ROLAGS™), was approved by ANSI in June 2007.
“We are really proud of the way the ROLAGS Standard is being utilized in the industry and thought this was the next logical step in standard development for the windshield repair industry,” says Keith Beveridge, chair of the ROLAGS Committee. “We welcome participation from the industry in the development of this standard for classification of types of breakage in automotive glass.”
The group will hold its first meeting during Auto Glass Week™ in October.
