The Trusted Repair Tech program was debuted during an NWRA members-only luncheon at Auto Glass Week.

The National Windshield Repair Association (NWRA) debuted its Trusted Repair Tech program at its annual member luncheon on Thursday, October 6, at Auto Glass Week™ in San Antonio. President Jeff Reddell introduced board members and led an informal discussion of the new program, which is free to members.

“This new program provides NWRA members who choose to participate with a way to offer a nationwide warranty on their work. It also offers consumers, insurers and others who purchase repair services peace of mind that the companies in this program will repair glass in accordance with the ROLAGS Standard™ and will not do unnecessary repairs,” he said. “It’s a program designed to highlight and reward companies that want to do it right.”

Reddell said the application form will be online in a few weeks and that a number of members have already approached him about signing up. “There are way more true professionals in this business than there are ‘windshield bullies’ and the Trusted Tech program will highlight that,” he said.

Those who apply to be a part of the NWRA Trusted Tech program agree that all of its employees, subcontractors and others who perform and/or windshield repair services will:

  • Have a knowledge and understanding of the ROLAGS Standard™;
  • Follow and be bound by the NWRA Code of Conduct;
  • Be certified NWRA Repair Technicians within one year of hire or subcontract;
  • Participate in the Trusted Tech random audit program;
  • Permit open communication about its practices and audit results with independent entities that conduct fraud and audit investigations;
  • Agree to service warranty claims, if any, from other Trusted Tech companies for a reasonable fee;
  • Participate and provide information in any complaint process and proceeding; and
  • Have the right to appeal to the NWRA Appeals Board and recognize the decision of that Board as final.

In return, NWRA agrees to provide the Trusted Tech company with:

  • The right to use the “Trusted Tech” service mark and be included on the Trusted Tech website and Trusted Tech promotional items;
  • The right to be considered part of its nationwide warranty program;
  • The right to publicize its own audit results;
  • The right to use the “Trusted Tech” service marks on logos, pamphlets and in other marketing materials;
  • Audit results and findings in a reasonable timeframe; and
  • The opportunity to participate in group marketing programs.
